Theatre Prodction – COVID Safety Class Description

Course Overview

This class teaches COVID safety for theatre & live performance professionals. It's intended for stage managers, production managers, company managers, performers, producers, general managers, directors, choreographers, designers, technicians, and other professionals "upstage of the proscenium." It's also valuable for line producers, production coordinators, talent managers, and anyone "behind the scenes."

Actors' Equity Association recommends this course for those interested in being COVID Compliance Officers on AEA productions. The curriculum is applicable regardless of union affiliation.

The content is meant for those who want to be knowledgeable during the pandemic and those who aim to be COVID Compliance Officers. A quiz will be administered for participants to prove competency of the subject. Individuals who show command of the material will be awarded a certificate of completion as a "COVID Compliance Officer for Theatre Production." Those who complete the class will gain access to curated COVID Safety & CCO resources. This class is $50.

Course Components

The class will be moderated and co-taught by Lauren Class Schneider and Dr. Larry Kaskel, with guest instructors Cody Renard Richard (Hamilton), Molly Meg Legal (Ain't Too Proud)  & Bonnie Panson (SIX). Your training will give you the pertinent facts while dispelling the myths. Dr. Kaskel will teach the science behind COVID safety, related to Theatre Production. Thanks to Cody, Molly, and Bonnie, our esteemed theatre professionals, you will also hear how productions are adapting during the pandemic.

Patron Safety for Theatre & Live Events – CCO Certificate & COVID Safety Training

Course Overview

This class teaches COVID safety for patrons, guests & attendees, with a focus on live events & theatre. It's intended for producers, promoters, planners, venue operators, house managers, ushers, ticket takers, line producers, box office, production managers/coordinators, presenters, and anyone interacting with patrons & guests. It applies to live events, theatre, concerts, festivals, fashion shows, trade shows, weddings & celebrations.

The content is meant for those who want to be knowledgeable during the pandemic and those who aim to be COVID Compliance Officers. A quiz will be administered for participants to prove competency of the subject. Individuals who show command of the material will be awarded a certificate of completion as a "COVID Compliance Officer for Patron Safety." Those who complete the class will gain access to curated COVID Safety & CCO resources. This class is $50.
